This
postcard was made to advertise the Titanic's maiden
voyage and was given to various travel agents. After
the disaster, it was recalled and the red printing
detailing the loss was overprinted on the front.
This card was postally used and was sent just few
months after the sinking. Actually
the picture is the RMS Olympic, which was frequently
used to represent both ships. This very popular
postcard spanned a few years and, as you can see
in the color variation below, was used officially
for the Olympic well after the Titanic disaster.
