These two copper pennies were just some of the items recovered from the pockets of 22 year old victim Mr. Leslie Williams by the body recovery vessel Mackay Bennett on April 22, 1912. He was identified, belongings recovered, and assigned as body #14. Based on his class third class status, this young professional boxer was buried at sea. His personal effects were well documented and returned to his pregnant widow, Lillie Williams. These items stayed with the family and were cherished mementoes for several generations.
