The
Titanic, along with her sister ship the Olympic, were
modern marvels even before they were completed. White
Star Line wasted no time in letting the world know
that they were building the largest steamers in the
world.
All
these advertisements are from the Cornishman &
Cornish Telegraph newspaper located in the United
Kingdom. The longer two are very similar but if you
look closely the typeset is different. The one to
the left is dated August 13, 1910 and the other (below)
a few days later. Each advertise "The Largest
Steamers In The World Building."
The
smaller clipping on the lower left is dated June 24,
1911, which is just a few weeks after the launching
of Titanic on May 31st.
