White Star
Line catered to the needs of many cultures. Displayed
here is a Elkington silver plated kosher ladle which
was used by Jewish travelers as called for by tradition
and religion.
It has
a hallmark date of 1921 and stamped "Kosher"
written in Hebrew at the front end of the handle. The
White Star Line flag logo can be seen on the reverse.
As one
would expect, Jewish cutlery and china is more scarce
than the more commonly used traditional dinnerware.
