Berry/Fruit Valance

As shown, it is folded in half but this is a long (approx. 6 ft) valance length remnant with a colorful berry border. Presumably it was used in some first class staterooms but because of the type of material, it was more than likely used in second class. Various pictures and recovered wood carvings support the fact that there were several rooms decorated with berry and leaf designs. Matching fabric may have been used as bed covers or privacy curtains. After almost 100 years it still maintains its bold colors.

As described on floral curtain page, this too was purchased by White Star Line as a second set to be used for as a change when the Titanic returned home to Belfast after the maiden voyage. Has great original owner provenance.

A close up of the beautiful berry bordered fabric. The border is a single piece repeated pattern that runs the entire length of the curtain, sewn on top of a light canvas type material.
