Fabric from 2nd Class Chair


This 5 1/2" x 6" piece of fabric was used on Titanic's second-class chairs. Spared from the tragedy and icy waters, this fabric was taken from a roll-end by Robert Browne, the paymaster from Harland and Wolff and given a second chance. Realizing the historic significance, it was passed down through the same family. A picture of this fabric can be seen in the book "Titanic - Touchstones of a Tragedy" by Steve Santini. It was part of the display in the photo below.
